White record cabinets

A white record cabinet keeps the listening corner bright and leaves the spotlight on the sleeves and the equipment. Depending on the design, it comes in matt white or high-gloss white, as low consoles, hi-fi sideboards or compact formats.

White blends into a light wall, goes with natural wood and fits into a living space without weighing it down.

White in a listening corner

White is the most understated finish: the furniture fades into the background and the records and turntable take centre stage. It’s a safe choice for a busy living room or a small room.

Matt or high-gloss

Matt white looks soft and hides fingerprints better. High-gloss white reflects the light and adds a more contemporary edge. Batignolles and Canal offer both, with very different layouts: a hi-fi sideboard on hairpin legs for one, a reversible cube unit for the other.

What to pair it with?

  • Light wood: oak floors, shelves or crates warm up the whole look.
  • Black: a black turntable on a white cabinet creates a crisp contrast.
  • Colour: sleeves stand out more against a white background.

Small spaces

In a bedroom or a studio flat, a small white cabinet takes up less visual space. Marais, 52 cm on castors, comes in white, with a record section with 5 dividers. Other compact formats are grouped in our small record cabinets.

Care

A soft, slightly damp cloth is all you need. Avoid abrasive products, especially on high-gloss, which scratches more easily. Put felt pads under heavy objects so they don’t mark the top.

What to check

As with any finish: a top big enough for the turntable, around 45 × 35 cm for a home model, compartments at least 32 cm high and deep for LPs, and an open, ventilated compartment for the amp. Allow roughly 1 cm of width for 3 to 4 records, depending on their weight.

White and light

A white cabinet reflects the light: facing a window, it brightens the listening corner; in a dark room, it adds brightness. Do keep your records out of direct sunlight, whatever the colour of the furniture. A warm-light lamp softens the white in the evening and makes the listening corner more welcoming.

Other colours

If you’re undecided, compare with our grey record cabinets, just as neutral but more mineral, or with our wooden record cabinets for more warmth.
