Buying guide

How to choose your record cabinet

Three questions to ask yourself before you order: how many records you need to store, in what kind of room, and with what equipment.

Capacity and practicality

Allow roughly 1 cm of compartment width for 3 to 4 records, depending on their weight. Compartments should be at least 32 cm high and deep for 12-inch LP sleeves. Leave room for future records and always store them upright. A low unit suits listening from the sofa; a tall one puts the turntable at hand height.

Need help choosing?

Our team answers all your questions about dimensions, finishes or delivery, Monday to Friday, within 24 working hours.

What size cabinet do I need for a record player?

A home turntable often takes up around 45 × 35 cm. The top must take it fully, with a little margin; compare with the dimensions on each product page.

How many records can a cabinet hold?

Allow roughly 1 cm of compartment width for 3 to 4 records, depending on their weight. Each design’s capacity is listed when known.

Is shipping free?

Yes, across Europe, to the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. We dispatch within 1 to 2 working days; delivery generally takes 6 to 9 working days, with tracking by email.

Is the furniture delivered assembled?

No, it’s delivered flat-packed with instructions; assembly is not included. A piece of furniture may arrive in several parcels: wait until you’ve received everything before you start.

Can I return a piece of furniture?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery. Dismantle and repack the furniture, in its original packaging if possible. Return costs are paid by you, unless the item is faulty or we sent the wrong item.

Where should I put my amplifier?

In an open compartment, with air above and behind it. Our hi-fi furniture has dedicated compartments.

All storage

Furniture named after Paris

Sillon Studio grew out of a simple belief: a turntable deserves better than the corner of a chest of drawers. We select furniture designed for listening, with compartments sized for LPs, a stable top for the turntable and a place for the amp. Every design is named after a Paris neighbourhood, from Pigalle to Belleville, in a nod to the record shops and living rooms where music is still shared.

Notre histoire

Record cabinets: storing your records and setting up your turntable

A record cabinet meets two needs at once: holding the turntable on a stable surface at the right height, and storing your records upright, within reach. Our range brings together low consoles, sideboards, tall units and compact formats, all designed for 12-inch LP sleeves of around 31.5 cm square.

If setting up your turntable is the priority, start with our record player stands: tops sized for common formats, around 45 × 35 cm, with compartments underneath. Using a separate amplifier? Designs with open compartments are grouped in our hi-fi furniture, and formats of 100 cm and more that also take the TV in our TV and hi-fi units.

For a growing collection, our vinyl record storage complements the main piece: record-shop-style crates, cube units, shelves. In a studio flat or a bedroom, our small record cabinets keep the essentials within 72 cm of width or less. And for a listening corner with retro charm, see our vintage record cabinets.

Each design comes in several finishes, including oak, rustic wood, white, black or concrete grey depending on the model, and every product page details dimensions and materials so you can check they suit your equipment.
